Clematis 'Kermesina'

Clematis 'Kermesina' has deep wine red flowers with a white base to the tepals, flowers freely and reliably July to September. Ok in any aspect it will reach 3M and can be hard pruned in spring. Good grower, even in poor conditions.
Raised by Lemoine of France in 1883, has sometimes been called C. viticella 'Rubra' but this is a name used in the past for a number of different red clematis and no longer applies to any specific plant. Forms part of the National collection.
